2p! North Italy, usually simply called 2p! Italy, is an original character design by Hidekaz Himaruya called "Another Color". His appearance is official, but his personality is not, though it is fairly agreed upon in the fandom.

The most popular human name for him is Luciano (Loo-CHA-noh), which may be inspired by the infamous Italian mob boss, Lucky Luciano.

Appearance

2p! Italy is shown to be physically similar to his counterpart, though with many color differences.

2p! Italy's expression is calmer than his counterpart's. His skin is slightly darker, and his eyes are open as opposed to Italy's eyes typically being closed. They are pinkish-purple in color. His hair is a darker auburn. His uniform is brown with a black shirt and tie underneath, with red tassels dangling from his pants. He wears dark, laceless boots. His hands are adorned with black gloves, with one of his hands holding a knife. He has a medal on his left breast pocket and an insignia on the left sleeve of his jacket. He also wears matching brown Bustina cap with a dark purple tassle coming out of it. His outfit bears a resemblance to the country's old fascist uniform.

In another drawing by Himaruya, the insignia is drawn in more detail. His hair is shown to be slicked back under the hat. He is depicted with his typical, air-headed expressions in these sketches.

Himaruya noted that Italy looks like a bad boy, which he liked.

Personality

2p! Italy has no official personality. Fans of Hetalia have created personalities for the 2p! characters, some more widely accepted than others. Common and well-known depictions are listed below.

General Personality

• 2p! Italy is almost always depicted as being bossy, moody, sadistic, and violent. He is typically shown to be mafia boss.
• He takes control of what he has and manipulates what he does not. He may be marked as cowardly, and he still remains non-confrontational for the most part. Much like 1p! South Italy , 2P! North Italy can be short tempered and impatient when angered. He will stop at nothing to get what he wants and is extremely possessive. He despises timeouts and being rebuked.
• He often has his allies or henchmen do his dirty work for him, but if needed, he will step out and get the job done himself. He is shown to be very skilled and quick with his hands.
• He is smart and sneaky, but also a tsundere. He is shown to lose his cool easily.
• He acts cheerful about murdering and torturing others. He is shown to have a sweet, but sadistic personality.
• He is usually quiet and sneaky, but when he is angry, he becomes loud, rambunctious, and aggressive.

Specific Traits and Quirks

• He may act wayward or energetic.
• He hates it when he is called by the nicknames "Lucia", "Lucy", "Lulu", or "Luci".
• He makes pasta with tomato sauce made from his victim's blood, similar to many of 2p! England's depictions.

Relationships

2p! Italy's relationships depend on the person making the story. Common and well-known depictions are listed below.

• 2p! Germany - He acts coldly towards 2p! Germany. It is rumored that 2p! Italy is the one who gave 2p! Germany the scar on his cheek.
• 2p! Greece - He and 2p! Greece do not get along.
• 2p! Holy Rome - Many believe that, in the past, he and 2p! HRE carried out a similar story to their counterparts. 2p! HRE grew to love 2p! Chibitalia, though he told him almost quickly after realizing his feelings. However, 2p! Italy laughed at him when he confessed. Though it looked like he hated 2p! Holy Rome, 2p! Italy did actually like him back. Many believe that 2p! Italy stalked 2p! HRE, much like 1p! Belarus towards 1p! Russia. Either way, they both did love each other and have good times together, making it terribly sad when 2p! Holy Rome left. Bringing up 2p! HRE around 2p! Italy is one of the only things that can make him cry.
• 2p! Japan - 2p! Italy acts rather coldly towards 2p! Japan, and vice versa. They don't like each other, but they work together to achieve similar goals.
• 2p! Rome - 2p! Italy's grandfather was very controlling towards him throughout his childhood, so their relationship is not on good terms.
• 2p! Seborga - The two are not close. 2p! Italy often threatens to take 2p! Seborga's independence away.
• 2p! South Italy - He has a complicated relationship with his brother. He is often depicted as not being able to stand him, despite how much 2p! Romano may care for him.

1p! Italy vs. 2p! Italy

• 1p! Italy is kindhearted. 2p! Italy is sadistic, temperamental, and has no qualms about hurting others for his own gain.
• 1p! Italy is cheerful and energetic. 2p! Italy can be portrayed the same way, but only to contrast with his sadistic tendencies.
• 1p! Italy is irresponsible and easily distracted. 2p! Italy may force his henchman to do his dirty work for him, but does not leave his work unfinished.
• 1p! Italy is a big crybaby and a coward. 2p! Italy most likely rarely cries. Some depictions may show him as a coward, making his underlings do everything for him and remain unconfrontational, while others show him getting jobs done himself.
• 1p! Italy cares a lot about his comrades and his brother. 2p! Italy could care less about his comrades, only really seeing them as tools. He is not on good terms with his brother, either.

Common 2p! Traits

It is common for 2p!s to be portrayed as murderous and obsessive. To most, they are a darker version of the original nations. However, because the original nations can be portrayed in the same way by the fandom, how much hold this has depends on the person making the story, artwork, or cosplay.

2p! Italy fits into the 2p! stereotype very well. is often shown to willingly use his knife, often as torture.
